$2M Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In Orange County

The lottery's Christmas Day drawing revealed a surprise gift for one Orange County player.

ANAHEIM, CA — One Powerball player received a surprise Christmas gift when a ticket sold in Orange County matched five of the six winning numbers in Monday’s drawing, earning the person a prize of over $2 million.

“We have a Christmas Day winner, California,” the state lottery posted Tuesday on social media.

The ticket was sold at the Donut Storr in Anaheim, according to the lottery, and the winning numbers were 5, 12, 20, 24, 29 and 4. The ticketholder’s prize came out to $2.085 million.

The Powerball jackpot has reached $685 million and the next drawing is 7:59 p.m. Wednesday.
