OC City Cancels New Year's Eve Bash Due To Storm
An Orange County city has canceled its New Year's Eve celebration due to the likelihood of rain.
FULLERTON, CA — The likelihood of heavy rains forecasted for the upcoming week has prompted one Southern California city to cancel its New Year's Eve celebration.
Fullerton announced Monday that First Night, an event planned for downtown, was canceled.
"We know this is disappointing and appreciate the community's understanding as we prioritize safety," the City of Fullerton's Parks and Recreation Department posted on social media. "We look forward to celebrating with you at future city events under safer conditions."

The event was scheduled to feature performances from live bands and DJs, children's entertainment and fireworks in downtown Fullerton.
The First Night was canceled due to an approaching storm that is expected to hit Southern California on Wednesday into Thursday.

"These conditions raise public safety and operational concerns for attractions, entertainment and fireworks, " the city said.
