CALIFORNIA — Two Amazon facilities in California will close later in the fall, affecting more than 300 workers, according to a state filing from the company, which said it is helping employees find new positions internally.

The ecommerce giant’s facility on McGaw Avenue in Irvine is set to close Nov. 7, affecting 162 employees, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice from early September published by the state’s Employment Development Department. Amazon’s facility on Ramos Drive in West Sacramento will close Oct. 30, affecting 159 workers, the notice said.

“We’re always evaluating our network to make sure it fits our business needs and to improve the experience for our employees, customers, and partners. As part of that effort, we've decided not to renew the lease at our facilities in Irvine and West Sacramento, California,” Amazon spokesperson Sam Stephenson said in a prepared statement.
