  1. Check out "six Orange County coffee shops to fall in love with this fall." "Whether you're in the mood for a poolside cafe, single-origin coffee roaster, or historic district's gem, you will find them all in OC for cafe lovers." The top three are the Seven Seas Roasting Co., a cute coffee shop in Aliso Viejo, Modern Times Leisuretown in Anaheim that is known as "a melting pot for leisure-seekers, writers, remote workers and locals," and a gem called Hidden House Coffee, that has been called "San Juan Capistrano's best kept secret." 2. Are you looking for an immersive restaurant experience? You will find one in a new museum restaurant started by two "culinary heavyweights." The Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA) is launching a "mostly vegetarian" restaurant named Verdant that will be "an integral part of the overall museum experience." Verdant will debut with a limited menu on Saturday, October 8, "to coincide with OCMA’s grand opening." Museum admission is free! (Eater LA)
  3. Amtrak and Metrolink are "unavailable between O.C. and San Diego County as emergency work begins to stabilize sliding coastal railroad tracks." California and Orange County transportation officers approved $6 million this week for emergency repairs to stabilize the sliding oceanside bluff and railroad tracks in San Clemente. Officials said it will take at least 30 to 45 days for passenger service to resume. (Subscription/Los Angeles Times)
