- Orange County is under a "red flag" and "high wind warning." On Tuesday, the National Weather Service raised the fire alert to "critical," with a high wind warning for Santa Ana, Anaheim, Garden Grove, Irvine, Orange, Fullerton and Mission Viejo. The National Weather Service warned strong winds could "knock out power, ignite fires and make travel difficult in some areas." The high wind warning extends through Wednesday, 7 p.m.. - "The Happiest Place on Earth" may also be the happiest place to work, as Disney’s workforce topped 2019 levels in Orange County. The Walt Disney Company is officially Orange County’s largest employer, after the pandemic had closed its Anaheim theme parks "for over a year" and Disney had to cut "nearly two-thirds" of its workforce. As of last month, "the Burbank-based company employed 34,000 employees." (subscription/Orange County Business Journal)
- REPOWER OC is installing free EV charging stations "all over Orange County," making it easier for SoCal to embrace California's executive order to phase out gas-powered vehicles. REPOWER OC owner Eddie McLaughlin said his company also installs solar panels and "works alongside power companies" to install the free charging stations. He also "helps business owners install solar panels and charging stations." (MENAFN.COM)
- Not even a brick wall could stop a driver from crashing into an Anaheim home early Tuesday morning. A "driver plowed through a brick wall" and crashed into an Anaheim home 1:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Falmouth Avenue—and it was all caught on surveillance video. The "homeowner said the crash was so loud it woke him up." "No arrests have been made and the cause of the crash remains under investigation." (KABC-TV)
