Despite Unimaginable Loss And PTSD, OC Student Graduates From Berkeley

He is my youngest son

Tell us why they deserve to be nominated!

He has endured a lot of tragedy in his life like losing his only older sibling, Christopher Limon on May 5th, 2011 and his father getting murdered. And although he’s been diagnosed with PTSD, dislexia, and anxiety disorder, he pushed through to earn his degree. In fact, he inspired me to go back to Saddleback College to finish my degree after almost thirty years. We graduated together in 2020 from our community college. Then when I was not accepted to UC Berkeley he committed to wait for me to gain admission on an appeal so we could stay together during the pandemic. I was accepted and we have journeyed together to the finish line. He held me up even when my mom, Lucy Fernandez died while we were so far away. Danny is a loving, committed, caring leader! He is humble, smart, dedicated, inspiring, kind, and a true giver. I am beyond PROUD to be him mom. He is always the first to forgive. He is truly my pride and joy. I love & appreciate him to my core. He deserves all of the recognition for being an amazing son and human being.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about your graduating student nominee?

His heart is pure gold. He always shares opportunities with others so they too can thrive in their lives. He is a humble servant.
