2 Ex-OC Police Officers Accused Of Kidnapping Woman: Report
The two former police officers illegally worked as bounty hunters when the kidnapping occurred, according to a grand jury indictment.
SANTA ANA, CA — Prosecutors accused two former Orange County police officers of illegally working as bounty hunters and kidnapping a woman in an attempt to find a fugitive, the Orange County Register reported.
Rodger Corbett, 49, of Corona, and Kevin Pedersen, 34, of Fullerton, face three felony counts of kidnapping, false imprisonment by violence, menace, fraud or deceit, according to the California Department of Insurance. The two men also face an enhancement of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Corbett and Pedersen have not yet been charged with the crimes. The two men are scheduled to be arraigned on the charges on June 29.

The Orange County Register reported that Corbett, who worked as a Fullerton police officer, and Pedersen, a former Anaheim police officer, worked as bounty hunters without having the proper authority.
The pair kidnapped and handcuffed the girlfriend of a wanted fugitive in October 2020 and drove her around for several hours as they searched for her boyfriend, according to the Register's report.
