- Way to go, Bella Rasmussen! The Laguna Beach teen athlete made history as the first girl to score two touchdowns in a high school football game. In addition to Rasmussen, seven girls have scored a touchdown in a varsity game, "but Rasmussen is the only one to have achieved the feat twice in one game," according to Cal-Hi Sports. (KTLA Los Angeles)
- An Orange County ophthalmologist removed 23 contact lenses from a woman’s eye. A woman in her 70s told her eye doctor that she had pain in her eye and blurry vision. Newport Beach ophthalmologist Dr. Katerina Kurteeva told Insider she couldn't figure out what was wrong until she "used an instrument to keep both eyelids open." She then spotted 23 contact lenses stuck together in one eye. The eye doctor said she has "never seen anything like that in her 20 years of practice." (KTLA Los Angeles)
- It took only seconds for a thief to break in and steal a credit card machine at a salon in Brea. The theft happened at The Grand salon Sunday around 2 a.m. Seventeen employees of the salon lost $40,000 when the stolen credit payment machine refunded the money onto prepaid or stolen credit cards, then money was withdrawn from an ATM. Salon owner Son Mai said, "the entire ordeal has been a financial nightmare." And, the business said the bank "isn’t guaranteeing the salon workers will receive their money back." (KTLA Los Angeles)
