Here are the top stories today in Orange County:

  1. O.C. educators, we appreciate you! And so does Dunkin'. On Thursday, Sept. 1, educators throughout California will be treated to a free medium hot or iced coffee. The coffee and doughnut shop is also running the "Raise A Cup to Teachers" sweepstakes, where guests in California can nominate a deserving California teacher to win free coffee for a year, and a "coffee break" for their school. (Orange County Patch)
  2. All "gas-burners" will be phased out by ’35 in California. On Thursday, the California Air Resources Board said by 2035, all new cars, pickup trucks and SUVs sold in the Golden State "must be powered by electricity or hydrogen." According to The Associated Press, the decision will impact the nation, since California is one-tenth of the new car market in the U.S. (ORANGE COUNTY TRIBUNE)
  3. Wagging tails are welcome at O.C. Parks! We just celebrated #NationalDogDay, and they are also celebrated and welcome at OC Parks' You dog pals can visit regional parks and other designated areas— and even come along to the Summer Concert Series and Sunset Cinema events, as long as they are on a leash. Be sure to bring enough water for your dog, and enjoy O.C. parks together. (OC Parks via Instagram)
