One life-long fan, Rob Rohm, thought he "disrespected Orange County" when he changed the name of the franchise from the Anaheim Angels to the Los Angeles Angels. The team is now reportedly worth $2.2 billion, according to Forbes. (Patch)
  2. Nickelodeon is one step closer to opening a new resort hotel in Orange County. During a Garden Grove City Council meeting to decide if the resort ordinance should be approved for the resort project, two union groups had opposing views over the 500-room Nickelodeon Hotel Resort. After hearing from construction and trade unions saying the project would bring needed jobs, the council voted to approve the development on Tuesday. Those opposing the development included members and representatives of UNITE saying the land just south of the Sheraton Hotel, "would be better used for housing," and added that a large development could have a negative impact on the community."(ORANGE COUNTY TRIBUNE)
