- Will Hollywood be coming to Garden Grove? The City Council wants to see more Hollywood films to be on location at Garden Grove. When the city council meets on Tuesday, one of the topics will be a discussion about the city’s film regulations and a proposal “to explore opportunities for increasing filming opportunities.” Films have been made in Orange County as far back as the Silent Film era, but the best-known O.C. film was “That Thing You Do,” produced by Tom Hanks, which was shot in and around Old Town Orange. - You don't have to be a surfing champion to compete in a fun surf competition. This weekend is the 2022 Surf Championships for Amateurs Only will start at 8 a.m. on Sept. 24 and Sept. 25. - Scientist say that new fault along the the Orange County and Los Angeles coast may shake things up. Researchers say that the newly discovered fault zone along the coast could cause a "San Andreas-scale" 7.8 magnitude earthquake along coastal L.A. and O.C. Scientists say that the fault system "runs nearly 70 miles along the coast of Los Angeles and Orange counties." The study is the latest research to highlight the seismic threats facing Southern California. The best thing we can do, is to be prepared.(Los Angeles Times)
