Man Dies When Truck Slams Tree In OC Amid Storm
A 78-year-old man was killed when his pickup truck crashed into a tree Thursday in Orange County.

GARDEN GROVE, CA — A 78-year-old driver was killed when his pickup truck crashed into a tree Thursday in Orange County.
Garden Grove police officers dispatched at around 4:55 a.m. Thursday to the 13200 block of Chapman Avenue regarding reports of a single-vehicle crash.
When officers arrived, they found the pick-up truck and the driver, who was unresponsive in the vehicle.

The victim, identified as James Eads of Orange, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the lone occupant inside the white 2000 Toyota Tundra.
There was no indication that alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
