- A Cal State Fullerton graduate died under mysterious circumstances after meeting a girl on Tinder. Paul Nguyen's family "suspects foul play." After traveling with a friend to Medellin, Colombia, on his first trip abroad, the 27-year-old contractor met a girl on the social media dating app, Tinder. He "was last seen when he went on a date with her Wednesday," Nguyen's sister Amy said. His body was found Thursday. The family said it appears that he "was drugged, robbed and killed" in Medellin. - Try white, red, rosé and sparkling wines from seven Santa Barbara wineries at a pop-up wine tasting Thursday. Sample a variety of 22 wines poured by the top producing winemakers and learn how the different wines are produced. Also enjoy curated samples of food with the tastings. This pop-up event will be held at About The Wines in Laguna Beach, Nov. 17, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and is hosted by Santa Barbara Vintners, a nonprofit trade association. (Orange County Patch)
- Would you like to work for the O.C. Sheriff's department? If you're calm in stressful situations, becoming a community services officer may be for you! Community services officers (CSO) wear uniforms and perform law enforcement duties that "don't require the authority of a peace officer." A CSO can work inside a sheriff's substation or out in the field. Find out more and apply here: (Orange County Sheriff's Department, CA via Facebook)
- The Orange County Mobile Library will arrive at the Crown Valley Community Center in Laguna Niguel on Nov. 22. Stop by for story time, crafts or sign up for a library card. Residents can use the O.C. Public Library mobile hotspot, check out books online, and more. Sign up here to register for the event, or visit the O.C. Public Library's website. (Patch)
