Here are the top stories in Orange County today:
- Quick-thinking O.C. firefighters used a ladder and rope to rescue a man caught in swiftly moving water Tuesday. Engine 62 rescued the man in the cold, fast-moving water by throwing a looped rope over him and guiding the exhausted man to a ladder, but the man was too weak to climb out of the water, fire officials said. Rescuers used the ladder like a seesaw, pulling the man to safety. The victim was sent to the hospital with minor injuries. (Orange County Patch)
- Holiday celebrations have returned to Disneyland! You will find a 50-foot tree, holiday music and "memorable moments from treasured Disney animated films." The Christmas tree will be on Buena Vista Street in California Adventure Park, and there will be "automotive holiday embellishment in Cars Land," with parades, treats, and a nighttime “World of Color – Season of Light” synched to inspiring holiday music! (Orange County Patch)
- Flying coast to coast from Orange County will be a breeze! Utah-based Breeze Airways will be flying from the John Wayne Airport starting Feb. 16, officials said. The airline's first flights will be from Orange County to Orlando (MCO), and to the airline's "home-base airport in Provo, Utah." CEO David Neeleman told USA Today that Breeze was selected because it offered something different from other air carriers, and that "service was the key to Breeze being awarded slots in the notoriously competitive airport."
