- A flight heading to Orange County from Sacramento had to make an emergency landing at LAX on Thursday. The Southwest Airlines flight had to land in Los Angeles "after it experienced a mechanical issue," an airport spokesperson told Patch. Victoria Spilabotte, a public information officer at LAX, said the plane landed at 2:40 p.m. There was no word whether passengers would be rebooked on other flights, or if they would be bused to John Wayne Airport in Orange County. - "She's Got A Ticket to Ride" may be a famous Beatles song, but there were no bus rides available in Orange County Wednesday. Thousands in O.C. waited for buses that never came, due to an O.C. Transportation Authority maintenance workers strike. The walk-out Wednesday by transportation workers was over "stalled" labor negotiations, union officials said. People from Santa Ana to Garden Grove who rely on buses had to find other ways to get from one place to another. You can find updated information about the strike here. (Orange County Patch)
- "Smash and grab" robbers rammed a truck into a Laguna Niguel storefront, shattering the front door. Surveillance video shows the two robbers backing the truck forcefully into the store, then jumping out of the truck and stealing four electric scooters from the O.C. scooter store. The OC Sheriff’s Department is investigating. (New Santa Ana)
