  1. You may see "a rare fireball swarm" in the night sky this weekend, thanks to the Taurid meteor shower. The Taurid meteor shower, which can be seen in Orange County in the fall, may produce "a rare fireball swarm" this weekend if "typical patterns hold true," forecasters said. With longer nights and clear weather, it could be quite a show. What about the full blood moon? It will be on Tuesday, Nov. 8. (Orange County Patch)
  2. Orange County will have a new medical office building in 2023. The four-story Helen Caloggero Women’s & Family Center is scheduled to be completed in 2023, and will be managed by PBM Real Estate Services. The medical center will be the new home of a mother and baby assessment center, maternal diabetes and wellness care, an imaging center, orthopedics, and other providers. The building will also have "conference and education rooms, a pharmacy, a retail Stork Shop, a Blue Bowl Superfoods outlet," with underground parking! (Commercial Research)
  3. O.C. Animal Care in Tustin announced "Pooches on the Patio" adoptions every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's a chance for the public to meet shelter pets that are available for adoption. The embattled shelter recently came under fire for not allowing enough public access to the shelter for pet adoptions, with its "appointment only" shelter visitor policy since the pandemic. O.C. Animal Care said that all adoptable pets have been "vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered."(OCgov.com)
  4. Gas prices continue to plummet in Orange County. The price of gas has fallen for the 25th day to a price of $5.504 —its lowest since Sept. 20. With prices 75 to 90 cents lower from record levels, customers are wondering how long falling gas prices will continue. Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager, said, as long as wholesale prices don't rise significantly, "there should still be room for additional substantial price drops."
