Here are the top stories in Orange County today:
- The two best cities to live in Southern California are...? A new report by Fortune of the 25 Best Places to Live for Families listed two Southern California cities in the Top 25: Tustin (#12) and San Marcos (#20). Tustin, nestled in the heart of Orange County, offers good jobs, schools and entertainment with "world-class shopping and dining," Fortune said. San Marcos, a suburb of San Diego, has a population of nearly 100,000 people. It offers top-rated schools and a “mild, year-round climate." See the full list here.
- The Orange County Auto Show in full swing at the Anaheim Convention Center after a two-year pandemic hiatus. The OC Auto Show, which runs from Thursday, Sept. 29 – Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Anaheim Convention Center, is showing off the latest models of "cars, trucks, crossovers, SUVs, electric vehicles, exotics and more." It's also National Drive Electric Week, so visitors will be able to ride in electric vehicles with pro drivers "to experience the quick acceleration, tight handling, and performance of a variety of new all-electric vehicles from Chevy, Ford, Kia, Nissan, and VW." - Starting Saturday, power for thousands of OC residents will be from 100 percent renewable energy sources in some parts of Orange County. Buena Park, Fullerton, Huntington Beach and Irvine have all made OC Power Authority their green energy provider. People in those communities all will be automatically paying a slightly higher rate for planet-saving renewable energy sources. Opting in or out of the program can be done in person or online until December. (NBC Southern California)
