4 Boaters Rescued Near Peninsula Coast

The boaters were in a vessel about 400 yards from the Pacifica Municipal Pier.

PACIFICA, CA -- Four boaters were rescued last weekend after their 21-foot sport fishing vessel took on water near Pacifica. The U.S. Coast Guard said the boaters called 911 on Saturday reporting that their boat was sinking approximately 400 yards from the Pacifica Municipal Pier and they were in the water wearing life jackets.

The San Francisco Sector of the Coast Guard dispatched a motor lifeboat and a helicopter crew as dispatchers maintained contact with the boaters, officials said.

The helicopter crew arrived on scene at approximately 12:30 p.m., hoisted all four boaters and transported them to the San Francisco International Airport with no reported injuries.
