Horseback Rider Thrown From Horse, Rescued by Firefigthers

A horseback rider riding trails in Daly City ended up in the hospital on Saturday, Dec. 14, according to North County Fire Authority officials.

At 4:34 p.m. three fire companies, one technical rescue unit and one chief officer responded to a cliff rescue at 2152 Olympic Way in Daly City.

The first arriving fire companies found a horseback rider that had been thrown from a horse. The horse had then fallen onto the rider, who was treated by firefighters and paramedics at the scene using a rescue basket.

The victim was taken to an awaiting ambulance and was then transported to a local hospital for unknown injuries.
