Man Arrested For Attempted Murder For SMC Bar Stabbing: Police

A 29-year-old man was stabbed in October at a coast-side bar and restaurant, police said.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Investigators arrested a 40-year-old man Tuesday in connection with a stabbing that occurred in October at a bar and restaurant in unincorporated San Mateo County.

In October, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office released a photo of the suspect and later identified him as Miguel L. Rodriguez, 40, of Redwood City, police said.

In late November the sheriff's office obtained a warrant for Rodriguez's arrest and at around 7 a.m. on Tuesday they executed that warrant on the 2500 block of East Bayshore Road in Redwood City, arresting Rodriguez and booking him into the Maguire Correctional Facility for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

At around 12:15 a.m. on Oct. 5, a large fight was reported at Old Princeton Landing Bar & Grill was reported to the sheriff's office.

A 29-year-old person was found by sheriff's deputies with a stab wound after they responded to the business at 460 Capistrano Rd. The location is in the unincorporated community of Princeton-by-the-Sea.

A day after the incident police released a photo of the suspect.

The victim survived their injuries and has since been released from the hospital, police said.
