Man Sentenced For Child Sex Crimes In SMC: Police

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A 73-year-old man was sentenced to 36 years to life in prison Friday after being convicted of sex acts on a child, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office.

On Aug. 27, prosecutors said Benedicto Faller Sison, 73, of Daly City, was found guilty of two counts of oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child 10 years old or younger and three counts of lewd acts upon a child.

Sison was convicted and sentenced after the victim informed her school counselor of the lewd acts, that had occurred daily, in September 2024. This report followed the victim telling her mother about the abuse the previous month, which prompted them to immediately move out of the house they shared with Sison, according to prosecutors.

Judge Lisa Novak commented on Sison’s lack of remorse during sentencing, prosecutors said.
