Pacifica Surfer Injured In Possible Shark Attack
Police said a surfer reported something bit his lower leg while in the water Friday afternoon off Linda Mar Beach.
PACIFICA, CA — A surfer was injured from an apparent bite while in the water off Linda Mar Beach on Friday, according to the Pacifica Police Department.
The department and members of the North County Fire Authority and AMR responded to reports of a shark attack near the beach Friday at 3:45 p.m. A 52-year-old man told officers he was surfing when something bit his lower leg. The man was able to get to safety and call for help, but told police he did not see what bit him. Medics took the man to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
