SMC Man And Woman Arrested For Return Fraud: Police
A man and a woman attempted to steal items from a home improvement store that they then tried to return for cash, police said.
COLMA, CA — A man and a woman were arrested Friday in Colma after they stole items from a Home Depot that they then attempted to "return" to the store for cash, police said.
At around 2:47 p.m. on Friday, Colma Police Department officers said they responded to the Home Depot located at 2 Colma Blvd. after receiving a call about a man and a woman attempting to commit return fraud.
Police said they arrived and detained Shelly Jones, 50, of San Francisco and Eric Webb, 34, of Pleasant Hill after they determined that they had tried to steal merchandise and return it for money.

Police said when they searched Jones they also found drug paraphernalia on her.
Jones was arrested for theft by false pretenses, conspiracy to commit a crime and being in possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Webb was arrested for theft by false pretenses and conspiracy, police said.
Both were issued citations and released, police said.
