In the past, this popular event has garnered attention from locals and national media. But organizers of the event were worried they would not have the funds to put it on this year due to cost increases in permits, fees and other local government requirements.
The organizers wanted to avoid raising the fees for vendors at the event so they started fundraising with the goal of $14,500 by May 1. Although they were a few hundred dollars short of that goal by the due date, the organizers have decided to announce that they will indeed be hosting the event this year.
