12th Palisades Fire Death Reported

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — As containment of the Palisades Fire grew to 95% this week, officials confirmed another death tied to the fire.

As of Tuesday, the Palisades Fire burned 23,448 acres and has killed at least 12 people. The county Office of Medical Examiner reported the 12th death tied to the fire on Monday. Officials said the unidentified victim died at a hospital.

On Friday, the medical examiner's office released information about the then-11 deaths tied to the fire. Of those, four people had yet to be identified.

Here is information provided by the medical examiner's office about the seven identified people who have died in connection to the fire:

Charles Mortimer, 84, died in a hospital as a result of "acute myocardial infarction" and "effects of inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injuries."

Betty O'Meara, 94, died at a residence on the 20400 block of Roca Chica Dr. in Malibu as a result of "inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injuries."

Annette Rossilli, 85, died at a residence on the 15300 block of Friends Street in Pacific Palisades as a result of "inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injuries."

Arthur Simoneau, 69, died at a residence on the 22100 block of Swenson Drive in Topanga as a result of "inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injuries."

Mark Shterenberg, 80, died at a residence on the 1000 block of Glenhaven Drive in Pacific Palisades as a result of "inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injuries."

Jeffrey Takeyama, 69, died at a residence on the 23300 block of West Paloma Blanca Drive in Malibu as a result of "inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injuries."

Diana Webb, 82, died at a residence on the 20900 block of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu as a result of "inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injuries."
