Driver Charged With DUI at Sunset/Bienveneda Collision

Eight LAPD units respond to two-vehicle accident in Pacific Palisades. Both drivers sustain minor injuries.

Two drivers sustained minor injuries in a crash at Sunset Boulevard and Bienveneda Avenue early Saturday morning in Pacific Palisades. One driver was charged with driving under the influence, according to Palisades Patrol.

At approximately 1:50 a.m., there was a report of a traffic collision at the intersection involving an intoxicated driver, according to Officer Ryan Krusi.

Pali Patrol arrived on scene to direct traffic while Los Angeles police and fire units were en route. Krusi said one vehicle was pushed up against a light pole on the eastbound side of Sunset, while a second vehicle was in the number two lane facing west on the westbound side of Sunset.

Eight LAPD units arrived to investigate the accident, including the traffic captain, according to Krusi. Both drivers sustained minor injuries.

The driver of a silver vehicle entered the intersection on a yellow light when they collided with the black vehicle. The driver of the silver vehicle was charged with DUI.

Krusi noted LAPD confirmed the arrested driver was involved in a domestic violence investigation that happened earlier Friday night.
