Ill Hiker Transported From Los Liones Trailhead

Female hiker's friend calls 911 Friday afternoon in Pacific Palisades.

A distressed and ill woman hiking in Pacific Palisades was transported by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics via ambulance late Friday morning.

LAFD spokesperson Katherine Main said the woman was hiking with a friend on a trail near 575 Los Liones Drive and came down with "some sort of illness." Main said the friend called 911 around 11:51 a.m.

Helicopters were initially dispatched to the area as the two were able to walk down to the trailhead and the woman was evaulated by LAFD paramedics and transported to an area hospital.
