Nearly 1,300 Customers Powerless Near Entrada Drive Neighborhood

Department of Water and Power has no estimate on when power will be restored to Santa Monica Canyon customers.

An equipment failure has approximately 1,289 customers without power Wednesday night in the Entrada Drive neighborhood of Santa Monica Canyon near Pacific Palisades, reports the Los Angeles Department and Power.

Spokesperson MaryAnne Pierson said the power failure started around 8 p.m. and crews are still out near midnight working on the circuits. There is no estimate when power will be restored.

Pierson said the equipment failure caused some wires to burn out and circuits to go offline. Power to all lines needed to be shut down in order to for LADWP work crews to replace the lines.

A citizen's report to Patch of the traffic signal being dark since 8 p.m. at the PCH, Chautauqua Boulevard and Channel Road intersection has not been confirmed by authorities. Pierson said those circuits are handled by Caltrans, not LADWP, and could not confirm the traffic signal outage.
