Pacific Palisades Fire Contained At 5 Acres
No homes were threatened, and no evacuation orders were issued, officials said.
PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — The forward progress of a stubborn, terrain-driven wildfire in Pacific Palisades has been stopped at approximately five acres, officials announced Wednesday morning.
"Fortunately, the fire conditions were favorable and firefighters acted quickly by air and ground to keep this fire relatively small," the City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department said.
Firefighters responded to the 17700 block of Calle De Palermo about 2:15 p.m Tuesday and located flames rapidly spreading uphill and away from nearby homes, according to Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Erik Scott.

The blaze burned in remote terrain, but cooler temperatures and high humidity allowed crews to stop the fire's progress by 4 p.m., Scott said.
Firefighters remained on scene throughout the night to monitor for flare-ups, Scott said.

The fire burned very close to a small cluster of homes backing up to Topanga State Park, but there were no evacuations ordered, and no homes were threatened.
The blaze broke out as National Weather Service officials warned of elevated fire danger in the LA area due to spiking temperatures, low humidity and very dry vegetation.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
