PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — A Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter Saturday hoisted an ailing hiker to safety in the Pacific Palisades, where temperatures were uncharacteristically hot.

The call was reported at 6:41 p.m. at 901 N. Temescal Canyon Road, said the Los Angeles Fire Department's Margaret Stewart.

The patient was suffering from heat exhaustion, Steward said. The person's gender and age were unavailable.
