Palisades Gets $5K For Policing 'Disruptive Teenage Activity:' Report

Complaints about teens drinking, partying and even chasing people with tasers has caught the attention of public safety officials.

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — A local real estate agent has donated $5,000 toward an effort to increase policing in Pacific Palisades as "disruptive teenage activity" has become more prominent, the Palisades News reported.

Michael Edlen's donation is earmarked by the Pacific Palisades Community Council for the "public safety pilot partnership" being considered by Councilwoman Traci Park's office and the Los Angeles Police Department. The effort would add between 15 and 20 hours of patrol time in the Palisades, according to the report.

The effort comes amid an increase in complaints about bad behavior by youth in the neighborhood. Among the incidents: A report that young people were chasing others on the Palisadian Center for Youth Sports and Recreation's tennis courts and calls about partying, drinking and lighting fireworks at the center, according to the Palisades News.
