Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

Now deceased, she was an incredible high school teacher at Palisades High who taught into her 90s. In the late 1960s, when I was her student, she taught not only English but speed reading and consumerism, that was never discussed otherwise, and taught tools I still use every day. She was also highly recognized by the local community for her ability and efforts. She was a hard teacher, totally committed to her students and highly regarded by students, faculty and parents. For me and many others, she set the bar as to what is an outstanding teacher.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

Totally dedicated to her students of whom most went on to excel in college.
