1 Person Killed In Palm Desert Crash

The fatal crash was reported Tuesday afternoon at Hovley Lane and Washington Street.

PALM DESERT, CA — One person was killed and another suffered minor injuries Tuesday in a traffic collision in Palm Desert.

Deputies responded at around 2:50 p.m. to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Hovley Lane and Washington Street, Riverside County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Sgt. Deirdre Vickers told City News Service.

"Upon arrival, deputies located a two-vehicle traffic collision and good Samaritans performing life-saving measures on one of the drivers," Vickers told CNS. "Cal Fire arrived and relieved them; however, the subject was pronounced deceased."

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to a hospital with unspecified minor injuries, officials said.

The sheriff's department was investigating the cause of the crash.
