2,100 Customers Affected By Palm Desert Power Outage

PALM DESERT, CA — A power outage affected thousands of Palm Desert residents and businesses Tuesday morning, SoCal Edison confirmed.

Just after 8:15 a.m., approximately 2,106 SoCal Edison customers lost power in Palm Desert. By 11 a.m., over 500 customers were still without power.

"A crew has been dispatched to the area," SCE spokesperson Jeff Monford told Patch. Repairs were in progress, and the outage was related to "equipment problems," according to the SCE Outage map. The outage was centered near Gerald Ford Drie and Portola Avenue, according to the map.

No other information was immediately available as to the equipment malfunction.
