2 Arrests, 2 Pot Operations Shut Down In Coachella Valley

Authorities made the discovery of two alleged illegal marijuana operations this week.

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA -- Two men were arrested and two illegal marijuana operations were shut down this week in Coachella Valley, authorities announced Wednesday. Riverside County deputies and Rancho Mirage police officers arrested two men Tuesday at an alleged illegal marijuana operation inside a home near the intersection of Florentina Drive and Vistara Drive.

Authorities said Zhong Jian Yang, 35, and Yonghau Yang, 26, both residents of Rancho Mirage were arrested. About 150 marijuana plants and 50 pounds of processed marijuana were also confiscated at the home, officials said.

Authorities believe the suspects bypassed the power resulting in approximately $9,000 worth of electricity having been stolen.

During the incident, authorities also discovered another alleged illegal marijuana cultivation residence in the 31600 block of Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City. Authorities confiscated 1,200 marijuana plants at the home where approximately $27,000 worth of electricity was stolen.
