2 People Found Dead In Desert House Fire
The bodies were discovered after a fire ripped through the home.

BLYTHE, CA — Identities were pending Monday on two people found dead inside a Blythe home that was destroyed by fire over the weekend.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau, the bodies of a man and a woman were found in the home located in the 200 block of S. Colorado River Road. The street parallels a mobile home park situated near the Colorado River.
The Blythe Police Department reported that the bodies were discovered after officers responded at approximately 11 a.m. Sunday to a residential fire at the address.

When officers first arrived on the scene, they found the home engulfed in flames.
"Neighbors and officers attempted to conduct a rescue for anyone inside; however, due to the extent of the fire, they were unable to enter the structure," the police department reported.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but during a subsequent search of the burned-out home, officers found the deceased pair inside.
Foul play is not suspected.
"A preliminary examination indicates that the origin of the fire does not appear to be suspicious; however, the investigation remains ongoing," the police department said.
