2 Students Get Streets Named After Them In Cathedral City
Diego Jauregui of Mt. San Jacinto High School and Kimberly Rodriguez Nunez of Cathedral City High School were recognized.

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA — Two recent high school graduates had streets named in their honor Tuesday in recognition of their academic achievements during Cathedral City's annual street naming ceremony.
Diego Jauregui of Mt. San Jacinto High School and Kimberly Rodriguez Nunez of Cathedral City High School were recognized Tuesday, and their names will remain posted at designated intersections for one year.


City officials unveiled Jauregui's event at Landau Boulevard and McCallum Way, and Nunez's ceremony was held at Date Palm Drive and Dave Kelley Road.

Jauregui was chosen by his school's staff because of his numerous accomplishments, which included serving as a student board representative for the Palm Springs Unified School District, graduating a semester early from high school and pursuing his dream as a culinary chef at College of the Desert, according to Cathedral City's communications and events manager Ryan Hunt.
Rodriguez Nunez was honored for her service as a student board member representative, her role as ASB senior class president and her acceptance to UCLA, where she plans to study psychology this fall, according to Hunt.

Participants in the ceremony included Cathedral City Mayor Nancy Ross, Councilmembers Raymond Gregory, Ernesto Gutierrez, Rita Lamb and Palm Springs Unified School District Superintendent Tony Signoret.
