3 People Found Dead In Riverside County, 1 Was Suicide: PD

Two people were found dead inside a car near a travel stop, and one person was discovered nearby with fatal self-inflicted injuries.

NORTH PALM SPRINGS, CA — An investigation was continuing Monday after three people were found dead over the weekend near the Pilot Travel Center in North Palm Springs.

At approximately 1:15 p.m. Sunday, Palm Springs police responded to a call about a gunshot victim in the area of North Indian Canyon Drive and Garnet Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a white sedan at the intersection with two dead males inside.

A third male was found dead just south of Interstate 10, near the Indian Canyon Drive overpass. He had "self-inflicted injuries," according to Palm Springs police.

Police believe the two incidents are related and there are no outstanding suspects.

The agency stopped short of calling the case an apparent murder-suicide.

Information about the three deceased was unavailable.

Indian Canyon Drive south of Interstate 10 was closed to southbound traffic during the investigation. The eastbound Interstate 10 offramp to Indian Canyon Drive was also closed.
