5 Nonprofits To Get Behind In The Coachella Valley, Palm Desert Area

We found five nonprofits across the Coachella Valley that need support, either through hands-to-help, food donations, or financial support.

PALM DESERT, CA — Nonprofit groups are keystone community organizations in the Palm Desert area. Fortunately, there is no shortage of organizations to volunteer or get behind financially and that need your help.

Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the YOUR PATCH area:

1. Coachella Valley Rescue Mission - The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission serves the people of the desert communities who are experiencing homelessness, hunger and life challenges. The mission provides emergency services, recovery programs and community outreach. Such events include the THRIVE School Supply Drive, and more. There are many ways to serve and donate this organization through planned giving, sponsorships, vehicle donations and community partners. 2. Desert Best Friend’s Closet: The Desert Best Friend’s Closet believes that someone’s future is hanging in your closet. This organization uses interview attire for those most in need of putting their best foot forward. This is an innovative, community-based solution where neighbors help neighbors. 3. Father’s Heart Ranch: In Desert Hot Springs, Father’s Heart Ranch is a group home for abused and neglected boys. We care for children by providing a safe and stable home environment for them so that they can heal from the abuse they have endured. These children have been removed from their homes by Child Protective Services and placed at the ranch. The ranch is 11 acres and is still growing. 4. Loma Linda Children’s Hospital: The Loma Linda Children's Hospital Foundation is dedicated to supporting Loma Linda University Children's Hospital's mission to bring whole-child care to the region and beyond. There are a variety of ways to get involved with our Foundation that we invite you to explore. There are many ways to give, through guilds, birthday club donations, personal and corporate giving, plus annual events are a great way to come together and give to a good cause. 5. Martha’s Village and Kitchen: Martha’s Village & Kitchen is one of the largest providers of homeless and impoverished services in the Coachella Valley and Riverside County. We offer unique life-changing programs based on the nationally-recognized “continuum of care model,” breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. From their thrift store to services that actively impact those in need of career and education assistance, emergency assistance, food, medical attention or even public showers, Martha’s Village and Kitchen is prepared to help others in their time of need.
