7 Arrested During Palm Desert DUI Checkpoint
A total of 1,075 vehicles were stopped during the checkpoint, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
RIVERSIDE, CA — Seven people were arrested during a DUI checkpoint in Palm Desert, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced Saturday.
The checkpoint was conducted near the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Portola Avenue from 6 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday, according to the sheriff's department.
Three people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and one person was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol combined, according to the sheriff's department. Two others were arrested for allegedly driving with a suspended license and one person was arrested for allegedly providing a false name.

A total of 1,075 vehicles were contacted during the checkpoint and 32 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a license.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
