700 Backpacks Full Of School Supplies Being Donated To CVUSD
The Coachella Valley Unified School District will receive the backpacks Friday for it elementary school students courtesy of a local tribe.
PALM DESERT, CA — The Coachella Valley Unified School District will receive 700 backpacks full of supplies for elementary school students from the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians Friday.
"These 700 backpacks from the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians are more than just supplies; they exemplify their commitment to our kids," CVUSD Superintendent Luis Valentino said in a statement. "It's amazing how much a backpack can mean to a student, and partnerships like this truly make a difference."
Friday's donation is the first of a series from the tribe to students in the region totaling more than 1,200 backpacks.
