Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, sponsors of the Mission of C.A.N., shared the clinic and the message of C.A.N. founder and CEO Kim Maguire-Hardee.
"The Mission of C.A.N. is to make a positive difference in the community. Pet ownership provides endless joy and happiness for both the animal and owner, enriching each other’s lives. After witnessing the devastating consequences of pet abandonment in our community, C.A.N. decided to set up low-cost clinics to make sure people can afford to keep their pets and become responsible pet owners.
“One day, I noticed the stray dogs and cats throughout the Valley and wondered why they weren’t anyone doing anything, and someone suggested I do something,” Maguire-Hardee said. “Looking back, I didn’t know what I was getting into, but this has been the most rewarding experience of my life.”
Since July 31, 2013, C.A.N. has spayed/neutered over 20,500 dogs and cats, preventing uncounted unwanted births.
Groups that are participating include Coachella Animal Network, Palm Springs Animal Shelter, Loving All Animals, S.O.A.R., Pawfect Time, Traveling Paws, and the office of Riverside County Supervisor Manuel Perez.
