Angel View's New Year Challenge event for children with disabilities

CATHEDRAL CITY - The 11th annual New Year Challenge for Angel View, which has grown in popularity since its inception as a swim-only event, raised a record-setting $90,000 last year and is looking to beat that mark with your help.

Join us in the pool, on your bike - or from the sidelines.

The “10K Your Way” with 100 percent of the proceeds raised for children with disabilities is open to anyone who would like to swim, bike, run, walk, or do whatever is safe – any distance, length, time period -- all to benefit Angel View's children. Dozens of lap swimmers, all swim friends of event founder Steve Erickson and the Piranha Masters Swim Club will be at the Palm Springs Swim Center Dec. 31 at 9 a.m. to kick off the event.

Erickson has already committed to a 10K swim on New Year’s Eve morning and a 100K bike on New Year’s Day.

Participants are invited to perform in their own unique way whether it’s a 10K trek around the neighborhood, a 10-second plunge into the backyard pool, or a 10-mile bike ride. Some even host their own Facebook fundraiser where proceeds go direct to Angel View.

The proceeds will benefit Angel View’s Outreach program for children, a free service which is possible through donations.
