Another Fake Threat Disrupts School Campus In Riverside County

Coachella Valley High School was on a brief lockdown Tuesday due to a report of a weapon on campus.

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — A report of a weapon at Coachella Valley High School prompted a brief lockdown Tuesday, but authorities said there was no credible threat.

Deputies from the Thermal sheriff's station responded to the 83000 block of Airport Boulevard around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday when they were notified of a lockdown, Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department told City News Service.

"Security at the location confirmed it was not an active shooter, but we're currently looking into an anonymous report of a possible weapon on campus," Brito-Gonzalez said. "As a precautionary measure, deputies responded to the location to assist if necessary."
