Billie Eilish, Finneas O'Connel, Yorgos Lanthimo Get Palm Springs Nod
The three will receive awards next month at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connel will receive the Chairman's Award next month at the Palm Springs International Film Festival for their song "What Was I Made For?" which is in the movie "Barbie."
Additionally, director Yorgos Lanthimos will receive the Creative Impact in Directing Award at the event in recognition of his body of work, including this year's "Poor Things."
"Billie and Finneas, with their unparalleled talent, have created a beautiful and ethereal ballad that perfectly evokes the poignancy of the journey Margot Robbie's Barbie takes in the film," Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi said in a statement. "The Palm Springs International Film Festival proudly honors these visionary artists for their award-worthy musical contribution."

The award will be presented to the siblings, Eilish and O'Connel, on Jan. 4 at the Palm Springs Convention Center, according to festival officials.
The Chairman's Award has previously been presented to Amy Adams, Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Tom Hanks and Reese Witherspoon among others.

Eilish is the youngest artist at the 62nd Grammy Awards to receive nominations and win all the major categories including Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album. O'Connel's success with Eilish includes eight Grammy Awards, headline sets at Coachella and Glastonbury, an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award.
Lanthimos will be presented the Creative Impact in Directing Award as part of Variety's annual 10 Directors to Watch and Creative Impact Awards brunch on Jan. 5 at Parker Palm Springs, according to festival officials.
Emma Stone, who stars in "Poor Things," will present him with the award.
"Yorgos Lanthimos established himself as one of world cinema's top filmmakers nearly 15 years ago when his film 'Dogtooth' startled and excited the crowds in Cannes at its premiere," Variety's Executive Vice President of Content Steven Gaydos said in a statement.
"Every film since, including 'Alps,' 'The Lobster' and 'The Favourite' has been an event, but this year's 'Poor Things,' is the crowning achievement in his wildly thriving career," he said. "The Golden Lion in Venice was only the beginning of the acclaim and Variety is proud to join the chorus of salutes to Lanthimos' fearless vision and superb mastery of his craft."
The Creative Impact in Directing honor has previously been presented to Baz Luhrmann, Ryan Coogler, Charlie Kaufman, and Patty Jenkins.
Lanthimos' film "Poor Things," which received seven Golden Globe nominations and 13 Critics Choice Awards nominations, was named to both the AFI and National Board of Review lists of the year's top 10 films, according to festival officials.
The Palm Springs International Film Festival will be held from Jan. 4 to Jan. 15.
