CSUSB Palm Desert Welcomes New Advancement Board Members

CSUSB has added seven new members to the Advancement Board that will serve as advocates for the university.

From CSUSB: The Palm Desert Campus at Cal State San Bernardino has added seven new members to its Advancement Board for the coming academic year. They include Fred Bell, Peggy Cravens, Linda Evans, Kathleen Kelly, Patrick O’Dowd, Gil Schroeder and Jennifer Wortham.

The other current board members include:

The PDC Advancement Board is a growing roster of community leaders who serve as advocates and ambassadors for the university. The mission of the board is to develop outreach efforts and to build engagement across all sectors of the desert communities.

Board President Ward Fredericks has noted that “the cornerstone of a great community is very often a fine university, and we are engaged every day in assuring that the PDC is meeting the needs of our region for today and the future.”

The PDC Advancement Board has been a part of celebrating the campus’s 30th anniversary this year, and is focused on funding the University Legacy Scholarship program, a new offering that will provide full-ride tuition and scholarships for outstanding high school graduates from the region. The board has also been leading the charge for an advanced program in hospitality management, which is slated to start with a certificate offering this spring, expanding to a specialized bachelor’s degree in business.

Located in beautiful Palm Desert, the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees, a doctorate in educational leadership, and teacher credentials and certificates. With more than 1,400 students, it is the Coachella Valley’s four-year public university and plays a vital role in educating and training the region’s growing population.
