College of the Desert Offers Clinical Medical Assistant Course
COD's Partnership and Community Education (PaCE) program is offering training in clinical medical assisting starting March 14th.
From COD: Are you looking for a career change? College of the Desert’s Partnership and Community Education (PaCE) program is offering training in clinical medical assisting. The session begins March 14.
The program will train students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Learn about phlebotomy, pharmacology, proper use and administration of medications, taking and documenting vital signs, cardiology including proper lead placements, and more.
The $2,599 tuition includes all materials, 140 hours of classroom training and 160 hours of clinical externship. The fee does not include the National Healthcareer Association exam or scrubs.

Sessions are from 6 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 14 through June 15, 2017. The course is held at the college’s PaCE, which is on the lower level in the Westfield Mall, 72840 Highway 111, Palm Desert.
This course is Workforce Innovative and Opportunity Act Approved (WIOA).
