Construction Worker Falls in Work Zone, Transported by REACH Helicopter Crew

A construction worker sustained major injuries when he fell in a work zone Monday at Indio High School and he was flown from one hospital to another by an air ambulance helicopter crew, according to Cal Fire.

The incident, described as a "medical emergency - trauma," was reported at 9:28 a.m. Nov. 4 at Indio High, 81750 Avenue 46, Mark Annas of Cal Fire-Riverside County said in a statement.

"Firefighters responded to a construction worker that fell one story in a construction zone," Annas said. "The patient was transported via ground ambulance to an area hospital helicopter landing pad and transported via REACH Air Ambulance to a regional hospital with major injuries."

The worker was identified as an adult male. An update on his condition was not available Monday afternoon.
