Detectives later learned the suspected gunman, a Cathedral City man, fled the scene and was found dead in San Bernardino County from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
Investigators believe the suspect, who was known to the male victim, entered the bedroom, shot the two, and then drove to an area in San Bernardino County, where he took his own life, according to police.
