The 70-year-old performer is calling her North American goodbye "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA—The iconic singer-songwriter Cyndi Lauper, whose career has spanned five decades, announced Monday she is launching a farewell tour that will include a stop in Riverside County.
The 70-year-old performer who still rocks the best hair colors in the biz is calling her North American goodbye, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."
Produced by Live Nation, the 23-city headlining tour — Lauper’s first major run in a decade — will include a performance at Acrisure Arena in Greater Palm Springs on Sunday, November 24. Organizers say Lauper will be joined by special guests to be revealed at a later date.

She won a Grammy for her first album, "She's So Unusual," and became the first woman in history to have four top-five singles from a debut album including her anthem, "Girls Just Want To Have Fun."
Lauper has released 10 additional studio albums, featuring classics like "Time After Time" and "True Colors," and is a Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee and New York Times best-selling author. In 2013, she became the first solo woman to win Best Original Score (music and lyrics) for "Kinky Boots," a musical play based on the Harvey Fierstein book of the same name.
Lauper has been an activist from the start of her career, fighting for the underdog — especially women, people living with HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQ community.
Lauper's farewell tour arrives alongside the release of "Let the Canary Sing," a feature-length documentary film exploring the performer’s life and career. The film premieres exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada on Tuesday, June 4. Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, has released a companion album of the same name, a collection of songs following Lauper’s career. The album is available now on vinyl and as a digital expanded edition.
Lauper will be honored Tuesday, June 4, at the TCL Chinese Theatre Hollywood in Los Angeles. The event will include a private screening of the film and a Q&A with Lauper. She is also set to be a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday, June 5, to talk about the film and farewell tour.
